“WirelessBox”
Multi-functional road monitoring system

WHO AM I?

My name is Natasha Bahrani Baloch and I am a Communication system and Network engineer. My research fields include Wireless sensor networks, Vehicular communication and intelligent transport systems. I am a part of SMARTI ETN for the project “WirelessBox” – Multi-functional road monitoring system. With this project, we would be able to have continuous monitoring system of pavements under real time traffic and observe the conditions and performance of the pavements. I am sure this PhD opportunity would make it easier for me to pursue my passion in the field of research and development.

MY PROJECT

“WirelessBox” Multi-functional road monitoring system

The LAMES laboratory of IFSTTAR, will provide experience in pavement instrumentation, and full-scale accelerated pavement testing. The SII laboratory of IFSTTAR is specialised in the development of instrumentation and monitoring systems, and data analysis, for roads, railways, bridges and buildings. The partnership with strategic partners will provide:

  • A3IP: sensor embedding and wireless data acquisition solutions
  • UNOTT: road engineering, sustainable pavements
